Often eggs in your incubator will be pipped or cracked, but the chicks just don’t hatch. There are many factors that contribute to this.

For our first hatch in a HovaBator 1620, we put in a barnyard mix of eggs, from our free-range flock, that consisted of Russian Orloff Bantam, Serama, RIR, BO, Silkie cross, Crested Polish cross, Splash Wyandotte, and some mystery eggs.

We just set our first batch of eggs in our new HovaBator 1620 still air incubator. We plan on adding a fan to the incubator for the next hatch, but are experimenting a bit with this clutch of 22 eggs.
